Who we are

The school was founded by two instructors who grew up on these slopes.

  • Davit

    Founder, instructor

  • Andranik

    Founder, instructor

The name Dahookia comes from the Armenian word դահուկ — ski. Andranik and I started out as students in Tsaghkadzor, became instructors, and then realised we wanted to teach our own way: no groups of twelve, no rushing, and no talking through an interpreter. There are ten of us now, and we know every one of them personally.

Two resorts

We work where the slopes suit a first-timer and a serious skier alike.

Prices

The longer the lesson, the cheaper the hour. Prices are per student; equipment rental and lift pass are separate.

Common questions

Do I need my own equipment?

No. Both Tsaghkadzor and Myler have rental shops by the lift. Mention it when you book and your instructor will help you get fitted before the lesson.

Is the lift pass included?

No, you buy it separately on site. A complete beginner often does not need one on day one — the practice slope works without a lift.

How young do you teach?

From four years old. Under six, lessons are usually shorter — an hour or two, since a child will not hold attention for longer. Parents can leave a child with us for the whole day: we take breaks for food and rest, and those are part of the booked time.

What if the weather turns?

If skiing is not possible we move the lesson to another day or refund it. Your instructor decides on the spot — they can see the slope.

How do I cancel?

Through the link in your confirmation email, up to 12 hours before the lesson. After that, call us and we will sort it out.

Which languages do you teach in?

Armenian, Russian and English. Each instructor's languages are listed on their card.
